The Morning Mirror: Eyes First, Judgment Later
Before the battlefield outside, make peace with who looks back at you.
After your basic needs in the bathroom, you meet another challenge—small or huge, depending on the day: the mirror. I invite you, if you want to heal and grow through difficulty, to look at yourself each morning with respect and love.
I am convinced that even the most beautiful woman in the world does not like herself first thing. Most of us—including me—cannot greet our reflection with approval. So we practise: eyes straight into eyes, with love and approval. If you cannot yet, offer a sincere smile, the kind that says I care about you, friendly, encouraging. Outside waits what I half-jokingly call the battlefield; better to have yourself on your side.
Start small: three slow breaths, eyes on eyes, jaw soft. You are not chasing perfect skin—you are refusing to open the day by insulting yourself.
